Johan Södermalm; @sketcher.js Humor, Style and Fall Essentials
Some meetings feel natural even before you walk into the room. One of them was when we had the chance to meet Johan Södermalm, known as Sketcher. On an autumn day in Gothenburg, we talked about his journey on social media and his eye for everyday humor. Johan also got the chance to pick his favorite pieces from this fall’s collection.
Who is Sketcher

For many, Johan is a name that has popped up in their feed more than once. His accounts sketcher.js on Instagram and johansodermalm on TikTok have quickly built a large audience. The format is simple but very sharp. He creates short sketches poking fun at everyday situations most people can relate to. His straightforward style and dry humor make the clips stick in people’s minds.
We discussed how it’s often the simple things that hit the hardest. Small details from daily life that many recognize but rarely put into words. That’s where his content becomes relevant and spreads.

The journey until today
Before social media took off, Johan Södermalm worked as a DJ at Port du Soleil in Gothenburg. He shared that music had long been a passion, but moving into short-form video opened up a new path. At the core, it’s the same feeling. Reading a crowd, finding rhythm, and delivering something that lands right in the moment.
Collaborating with him over the years has felt natural. There’s a clarity in his expression that aligns well with our own view of style and everyday life. Nothing complicated or overdone—rather, an expression of a modern and personal tone.
Fall favorites
When we met Sketcher, we asked him to select some seasonal favorites. He quickly gravitated toward the knit sweater Kit, a piece that works just as well on its own as under a coat. To that he added the overshirt Nash, with its clean lines and modern silhouette a natural pairing.
He also highlighted the knit half-zip Caleb, which he said works both for everyday wear and when you want to add more structure. The flannel shirt Shift appeared during the shoot and was immediately recognized as one of the most versatile pieces in the wardrobe.
Among outerwear, he mentioned Dylan, an overshirt with a subtle but distinct presence. He also chose the tailored overshirt Evander for its clean look, and finished with the classic sweater Clark, which he felt always works no matter the occasion.

Talking social media
We touched on how his content comes to life. Johan explained that he often starts with small notes from daily life—maybe a moment at the gym, on public transport, or something overheard in passing. These turn into short scripts that he records quickly, often without overthinking. That spontaneity is part of the strength.
